This is a really useful reality check, but clearly done with deep understanding of a new author's mindset ... and with a liberal dose of humour. Appreciated, thanks.
These posts are incredibly useful and provide great insight into what creative types like me need to know to have a fighting chance. I'm really looking forward to the series of thinking like an agent.
It's a boost to hear you find them useful. Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to start doing Q&A sessions fairly soon, probably via Instagram. Feel free to drop in and ask anything. Good luck with your writing.
Thanks for the feedback. There are several areas where this industry is opaque, because it's easier for all of us working in it when writers aren't expert enough to ask difficult questions. This cloistered approach will no longer work in world of social media, where free exchange between authors is now routine. That's a good thing.
Looking forward to this series and the pointers you intend to provide.
I'll be happy not to grow a shark's fin, but I'm down to do the hard work.

Really helpful. Should be recommended reading (listening).
Looking forward to the series.
Brilliant!
Love this - can’t wait to get stuck in - now the book is finished a whole new process begins!
